FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER – LAW FIRM

Nesco Resource is partnering with one of our top clients, an established and highly respected law firm, to find an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day financial operations of a business and wants to play a key role within a successful law firm.

If you have strong full-cycle bookkeeping experience, understand the unique financial requirements of a law practice, and have hands-on experience with Sage, we would love to speak with you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Take ownership of the firm’s day-to-day bookkeeping and financial operations
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records using Sage accounting software
• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including vendor invoices, payments, and expense tracking
• Oversee Accounts Receivable, client billing, collections, and payment applications
• Reconcile operating accounts, credit cards, bank accounts, and client trust/IOLTA accounts
• Handle attorney and client-related financial transactions accurately and confidentially
• Maintain and reconcile client trust/IOLTA accounts in accordance with applicable rules and firm procedures
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Process payroll and related payroll reporting
• Work with outside CPAs, auditors, and tax professionals
• Monitor cash flow and provide financial information to firm leadership
• Research discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and keep records organized and audit-ready

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of Full Charge Bookkeeping experience
• Law firm, legal industry, or professional services accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with law firm trust/IOLTA accounting is highly desirable
• Hands-on Sage accounting software experience is required
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger, AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience with legal billing, client ledgers, retainers, or collections is a plus
• Payroll processing experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
• A professional who understands the importance of confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and client information
