Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the company's day-to-day financial operations and oversee the complete accounting cycle. This role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while supporting management with timely financial reporting and insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process, from data entry through financial reporting
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and process payroll, payroll tax filings, and benefits-related accounting
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan statements monthly
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Track and record fixed assets and depreciation
- Prepare and file sales tax, use tax, and other compliance reports
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Coordinate with external CPAs or auditors during tax preparation and audits
- Maintain organized and compliant financial records
- Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and company policies
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience handling payroll and payroll taxes
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar)
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, reconciliations, reporting)
- Familiarity with payroll systems and tax software
- Experience with cloud-based accounting tools preferred
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for working with management and vendors
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
