Position Overview - Full Charge Bookkeeper
We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our established accounting department at our Whittier, CA office. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you'll play a key role in managing the full bookkeeping cycle for a growing company of 70+ employees, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete bookkeeping cycle, including monthly closing, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions (including payroll entries) are properly recorded
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, collaborating with the AP clerk as needed
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
  • Monitor and report on account balances and variance to budget
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits and internal reviews
  • Work closely with the Director of Accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
  • Heavy use of QuickBooks Enterprise (desktop) and Microsoft Excel is required

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a company with 25+ employees and exceeding $5M–$10M in revenues
  • Mastery of QuickBooks Enterprise (desktop version) and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, financial statements, and reconciliations
  • Experience working with general ledger, AP/AR, and monthly close
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com preferred, but not required (we will provide training)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is a plus
  • Certified Bookkeeper credential is a plus, but not required
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
  • Task-oriented, able to take direction, and a team player who values consistency and routine

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary: $65,000 / year
  • 15141 Whittier Blvd, Suite 530, Whittier, CA 90603
  • Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (1 hour lunch)
