The Paraprofessional provides instructional and behavioral support to students in the transition program supporting young adults (18-22) with disabilities in school and community environments
CLIENT'S LOCATION
Schools are located in Northbrook, IL
DESCRIPTION OF CLIENT'S DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students under teacher supervision
* Assist with academic, social, behavioral, and life skills development
* Support students in vocational training and community-based job sites
* Assist with daily living skills (e.g., communication, independence, routines)
* Provide supervision and safety support across school and community environments
* Collaborate with teachers, families, and outside agencies
* May assist with personal care needs and mobility support depending on assignment
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
* Experience working with children with a wide range of abilities - especially in special education settings
* Illinois paraprofessional license or a substitute license.
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
