Full Stack Developer

Duration: 4 Months
Location: New York, NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote per Week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 35 hours/week, during normal business hours

Job Description

Full-Stack Application Development

• Develop web applications using Python-based frameworks such as Flask and Django.
• Build RESTful APIs for application functionality and integrations.
• Implement backend logic, authentication, and business rules.
• Develop reusable, modular, well-documented, and scalable code.
• Perform application integration activities.
• Develop responsive and accessible web application interfaces.

Database Design & Data Management

• Design and develop relational databases using PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Create optimized database queries and schema designs.
• Perform data modeling activities based on application requirements.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
• Support data migration from legacy systems to modern platforms.

Cloud, DevOps & Containerized Development

• Develop and deploy applications using Docker containerization.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Create shell scripts to automate development and operational activities.
• Work within Linux/UNIX environments.

System Integration & Search Technologies

• Integrate applications with internal and external systems using APIs.
• Implement search functionality using technologies such as:
  • Elasticsearch
  • Solr
  • Lucene
• Create and maintain indexes to support efficient record retrieval.
• Develop search functionality including indexing, querying, and result presentation.

Code Quality, Review & Collaboration

• Participate in peer code reviews for Python and JavaScript code.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and secure development guidelines.
• Use Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Collaborate with designers, analysts, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tooling.
• Participate in Agile development activities.

Deliverables

• Functional front-end and back-end application modules.
• RESTful API services for application functionality and integrations.
• Database schemas, optimized data models, and data structures.
• Full-text search functionality, including indexing and query handling.
• Reporting and analytics dashboards providing application usage and operational metrics.
• Containerized application deployments using Docker.
• Technical documentation, including system design, API documentation, and workflow descriptions.
• Agile development artifacts, including user stories, estimates, sprint deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
• Code review participation and support for quality assurance and secure coding practices.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in front-end web application design and development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks.
• Strong Python development experience using Flask and/or Django.
• Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Docker containerization and cloud-based deployments.
• Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene.
• Experience writing shell scripts and working in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with legacy system modernization and application migration.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong collaboration skills within cross-functional Agile teams.
