Job Title: Full Stack Java Developer

This role is part of a new project within LCG, pulling in data about our infrastructure for review. The developer we bring in will be focused on the back end, while occasionally helping on the front end when required. 

The back end will involve a mix of Spring REST services and Spark batch processes, while the front end will be Angular. This is a new project, so the ideal candidate will be able to help with setting up new projects, creating database schema, researching data feeds, communicating with external teams, and possibly helping to decide on implementation decisions at all levels of the application. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you will be working with both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Responsibilities will include working with geographically distributed teams to fulfill the requirements and supporting solutions using Java/Scala/JavaScript. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be eager to create robust, well-tested solutions that satisfy real business problems. The candidate should respond well to change and quickly pick up new concepts as well as devise new approaches for solving challenges in the space. Key Responsibilities Create Spring REST services Create batch process ETL jobs with Spark Assist with web UI if necessary Design and create database schema Document project and its external resources 

Skills Required 

technical Skills 5+ years of appropriate technical experience Experience working with the Spring ecosystem Strong Java experience Front end experience with a JavaScript framework, preferably Angular Strong SQL skills A demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, languages, and libraries Experience working with Git Linux command line skills Required Personal Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills and professional approach Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Capable of collaborating effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions and different roles and writing a good README for a project Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks assigned Good customer service skills. Ability to deal with difficult situations/individuals gracefully 

Skills Desired: 

Experience with Spark and the Hadoop/Big Data ecosystem Familiarity with Scala and/or functional programming Familiarity with Python Proficient in continuous integration tools such as: Jenkins / Maven Experience writing unit and end-to-end tests at all levels of an application Experience with Docker and containers
