The Work Is Real.
The Portal Protectors team owns the employer facing portal that allows policy administrators to enroll members, manage benefit information and update member demographic data in real time. You''''ll be working on a fully modernized React platform; the migration is complete and now the real build begins. This role sits at the heart of Mutual of Omaha''''s Workplace Solutions modernization effort, connecting a sleek frontend experience to a powerful backend ecosystem built on Kafka, MongoDB, and AWS. Growth and transformation make up the majority of the work. This is not just a maintenance role.
The Stack Is Modern.
React · Java 17 · Spring Boot 3 · Groovy · MongoDB · AWS · MuleSoft · Kafka · Kubernetes · CI/CD · AI-assisted development. The team actively uses AI tooling for code generation, requirement analysis, troubleshooting, and library migration. If you want to work alongside engineers who embrace AI as part of their daily workflow, this is the right place.
The Team Is the Real Selling Point.
Nine engineers. Fully remote. A culture built on psychological safety, open communication, and mutual support. Ask questions freely, share your opinions, and grow alongside some of the sharpest engineers in the building. Leadership here is focused on removing stress from the equation. You come to work for self-fulfillment, not survival. Build trust and you''''ll earn real autonomy over your work.
