Full Stack Software Engineering Lead

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineering Lead in a hybrid role for a 6-month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this role, you will lead a development team delivering next generation data analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities for the ACS turnkey program. The position focuses on scalable platform development, API design, responsive UI development, CI/CD automation, and AI-assisted software engineering practices.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with supplemental experience
• 6+ years delivering full stack software solutions on complex, data-intensive programs
• Experience with version control systems, preferably GitLab, including repositories, merge requests, and pipelines
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, automated testing, continuous integration, and code quality practices
• Familiarity with relational databases, messaging services, REST APIs, and object storage
• Ability to design and implement responsive user interfaces and dashboards
• Experience designing scalable platforms supporting analytics and AI-driven development
• Experience developing APIs that expose data and services to front-end and third-party consumers
• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, linting, and deployment
• Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Ability to document APIs, data models, and deployment procedures
• Ability to leverage AI development tools to support coding, refactoring, testing, and design validation

Preferred Skills

• Agile methodology experience, including Scrum and Kanban
• Knowledge of DevOps tools including Ansible, Nexus, GitLab Runner, and Harbor
• Proficiency with React, Next.js, Node.js, Shadcn UI Kit, FastAPI, and modern front-end ecosystems
• Experience with Apache Superset and Trino
• Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Experience with turnkey training or learning architectures
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud or air-gapped deployment models
• Experience integrating email and SMS notification services
• Experience with SCORM, xAPI, and CMI5 learning management standards

What You’ll Do

• Lead development of full stack software solutions for the ACS turnkey program
• Design and implement scalable analytics and AI-enabled platforms
• Ensure data integrity, security, archival, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities
• Develop responsive dashboards, visualizations, and interactive data views
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based and air-gapped deployments
• Integrate third-party services and learning management standards
• Collaborate across teams to support platform architecture and deployment strategies
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery and validation
