The APN license is provided by NJ Division of Consumer Affairs to Master's prepared RN's meeting criteria as either Clinical Nurse Specialists or Nurse Practitioners. Nurses licensed as APN's who also have attained Prescriptive Authority and DEA registration may provide medical services in conjunction with a licensed physician or group. At Center for Hope Hospice, the APN may provide medical visits to patients under the agency's Medical Directors and may provide the medical evaluation and documentation of a Face-to-Face visit to satisfy the CMS requirement for this site visit for those Hospice beneficiaries entering any '60-day' benefit period. Note that while the APN may accept and perform any duties appropriate for a skilled Registered Nurse for Center for Hope Hospice; in this role, the APN's function is maintained as distinct from such other skilled nursing functions she or he may also perform for the Center. |
