(NEI) is seeking a motivated, creative, and career-oriented individual to join our team as a Full-Time Trainer to work with birds and other species of animals found in zoological facilities.

At NEI, we specialize in animal training and producing inspirational programs, partnering with zoological facilities worldwide to develop behavior management programs and teach the art and science of animal training. With new projects and opportunities on the horizon, we're looking for skilled trainers who are ready to grow with us and take on exciting new challenges.

What You'll Do:

\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Provide top-quality animal care and training at our NEI Training and Education Center in Winter Haven, Florida.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Participate in husbandry, maintenance of enclosures, enrichment, and overall animal care.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Maintain a clean, enriching environment for a variety of species, adhering to USDA, AZA, and industry best practices.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Effectively and promptly communicate observations regarding animal welfare and behavior.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Thrive in a team-oriented culture that values collaboration, growth, and innovation.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Potentially contribute to the development of inspirational and engaging educational programs and participate in live educational presentations.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Potentially participate in training staff and animals on consulting projects.

\t\t\t\t\t

What We're Looking For:

\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Experience: 2+ years in a full-time professional animal training role, either in exhibit animal training or in shows and ambassador programs. Exceptional candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of behavior science principles with hands-on training experience across multiple species (mammals, birds, herps, etc.).

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Skills: Excellent observational awareness, communication, and teamwork.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Flexibility: Ability to work weekends and holidays and adapt to changing schedules and project needs.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Travel: Willingness and ability to accept extended project assignments at zoological facilities throughout the USA. Assignments may last several weeks to several months.

\t\t\t\t\t\t

• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in hot, humid conditions (90+ degrees), lift up to 50 lbs., tolerate noisy environments, and stand/walk for extended periods.
