COMPENSATION:
- $118,000 to $140,000+ Base Salary, negotiable dependent on experience

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The new certified nurse midwife will work in a collaborative environment with an established, integrated care team of physicians, advanced practice providers, RNs, LPNs, medical assistants, and non-clinical support staff.

Providers are supported by highly-trained clinical assistants and on-site management in comfortable, modern settings.  This includes scribes and staff to perform administrative tasks, ensuring providers are able to focus solely on patient care.

The nurse midwife will provide prenatal and postpartum care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

- obtain detailed and accurate patient histories
- perform physical examinations and identify problems
- interpret information to determine plans for OB/GYN patient care
- initiate diagnostic procedures
- order and interpret lab, radiology, fetal heart rate tracing, and other studies as appropriate
- provide OB/GYN patient counseling and patient education
- prescribe medications as appropriate for therapeutic plans
- order and administer injections and intravenous medications as necessary
- collect fluids for diagnostic purposes (blood, urine, sputum, exudates, etc.)
- interpret non-stress test results for OB/GYN patients
- assist / triage patients with problems or concerns
- screen for postpartum depression in OB/GYN patients
- take part in call rotation at an affiliated hospital under the supervision of a physician
- attend to uncomplicated vaginal deliveries
- assist on C-sections
- take part in antepartum / postpartum patient care
- participate in call to the ER for OB/GYN emergencies

Providers see a variable (and always manageable) number of patients per day, based upon needs and types of appointments scheduled.

REQUIREMENTS:
- New York midwife license
- CNM certification
- 1+ year experience
