Description
Dietary Aide
Brunswick Pointe Transitional Care is seeking caring, dependable, and hardworking Dietary Aides to join our team! As a Dietary Aide, you will play an important role in providing residents with nutritious meals while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
Responsibilities
Prepare, portion, and serve meals according to resident diet orders.
Set up meal trays accurately and deliver meals in a timely manner.
Serve beverages and assist residents during meal service as needed.
Collect trays and clean dining areas after meals.
Label, cover, and properly store food items.
Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen following infection control and food safety guidelines.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and report equipment concerns.
Follow all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food service.
Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing, and other departments.
Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Previous food service experience is preferred, especially in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
ServSafe certification is a plus but not required.
Must successfully complete all required background screenings.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and pushing meal carts.
Ability to work in warm kitchen environments.
