Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. This position involves working on new and exciting automotive prototypes in a variety of areas. The Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators will cut materials to size and shape and weld metal using hand tools and equipment such as band saws, material brakes, and material shears. The Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators will provide welding support for the garage shop services teams. The Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. This Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators position is based out of Allen Park, MI and offers AM and PM shifts and overtime when needed. Shift Schedule: - AM day shift: 6:45 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday, plus overtime when needed)
- PM night shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (Monday - Friday, plus overtime when needed)
Responsibilities: - Weld instrumentation, exhaust tubes, and bosses
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with sanding disk and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture
- Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up
Requirements: - Minimum 1+ years of fabrication experience in a professional or shop environment required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge and ability to Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG) weld
- Good communication skills and detail oriented
- Knowledge to safely operate and use the Plasma cutter and Oxy-Fuel torch to cut out material
- Knowledge to safely operate and use brakes, shears, and bench machines
- Must have tools and rolling toolbox
Preferred Skills: - Certificate in Welding Technology or related
