Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is looking for hands-on, automotive professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech environment! PDW is now hiring Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators / Mechanics to work with a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, cutting materials to size and shape and weld metal using hand tools and equipment such as band saws, material brakes, and material shears. The role will provide welding support for the garage shop services teams. Entry-Level Fabricators / Mechanics will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. This Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators / Mechanics position offers an AM day shift plus overtime as needed and is based in Livonia, MI. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Entry-Level Fabricators / Mechanics position below are strongly encouraged to apply. ** No previous experience required. ** Responsibilities: - Weld instrumentation, exhaust tubes, and bosses
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with sanding disk and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture
- Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up
Shift: - AM Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday – Friday, plus overtime when needed)
Requirements: - Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No previous experience required
- Basic knowledge and ability to Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG) weld
- Good communication skills and detail oriented
- Knowledge to safely operate and use the Plasma cutter and Oxy-Fuel torch to cut out material
- Must own your own tools with a rolling lockable toolbox (We offer a mechanic toolbox program if needed!)
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Must have reliable attendance and the willingness to work overtime/weekends
Preferred Qualifications (not required): - Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Certificate in Welding Technology or related
