St. Charles Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the Full-Time Faculty position in Psychology to begin Fall 2027 for the 2027-2028 academic year. This position will be responsible for teaching and developing psychology courses. Courses are delivered through multiple modalities including online and in-person. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction to improve student learning outcomes. The successful candidate will participate in professional development, engage in assessment activities, attend faculty and committee meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. The position is an on-site position requiring campus presence. The Psychology faculty reports to the Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Faculty are responsible for instruction, grading, record-keeping, and compliance with legal and institutional obligations. Instructors should expect to meet all deadlines and to use standard software, including the Microsoft Office suite, as appropriate. Instructors must conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views:

• Impart expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in the instruction of psychology to a diverse student population with various learning styles and abilities.
• Effectively prepare and present course content, drawing upon disciplinary knowledge, skills, theories, issues, research, and applications to design engaging and effective learning experiences.
• Maintaining the appropriate number of office hours at times of day convenient for students.
• Providing meaningful feedback, and timely responses to students'' work and questions.
• Meeting all division, department, and college deadlines:
• Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and reporting attendance as required:
• Keeping careful grade records throughout the academic term:
• Attending scheduled faculty meetings and training sessions:
• Perform ongoing student, program, and college assessment activities, including analysis of course assessments, evaluations, and data to engage in continuous improvement to enhance student success, retention, and completion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master''s Degree in Psychology or related field or
• At least 18 hours of successful coursework in psychology.
• Teaching and or Professional practice/work-experience in psychology or closely related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
• Community College teaching experience
• Expertise using a Learning Management System such as Canvas and using technology to enhance student learning.
• Demonstrated excellence in online teaching and are Quality Matters (QM) certified:

Salaries: Instructor $60,076; Assistant Professor $66,178; Associate Professor $72,753 - Rank will be assessed at the time of hire based on years of experience and education based on pre-determined criteria.
