Location: San Francisco, CA 94105 — onsite employee health clinic
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–4:30 PM
Employment: Full-time, W-2, non-exempt
Medical Assistant Pay: $34.62–$38.46 per hour ($72,000–$80,000 annually)
California LVN Pay: $38.46–$43.27 per hour ($80,000–$90,000 annually)

Position Overview

Ready to take greater ownership of a clinic without stepping away from patient care?

We are hiring an experienced Medical Assistant or California LVN to become the steady onsite presence behind a professional employee health clinic in downtown San Francisco. You will help keep the clinic organized, prepared and running smoothly while continuing to provide hands-on care such as blood draws, vaccines, patient intake and routine testing.

You will coordinate the daily flow of the clinic, help organize PRN coverage, keep referrals and supplies on track and make sure operational issues reach the right people. Licensed clinicians remain responsible for medical decisions, allowing you to focus on excellent patient support and a dependable, well-run clinic experience.

This is a strong next step for an experienced MA or LVN who is organized, confident working independently and ready for lead-level responsibility. A previous formal lead title is not required.

What You'll Do

• Keep daily clinic operations, patient flow and site readiness running smoothly.
• Serve as the primary onsite operational contact and help coordinate PRN coverage, schedule changes and onboarding.
• Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs and maintain accurate intake and EHR documentation.
• Perform blood draws, specimen-related services, vaccines, injections, EKGs and point-of-care testing within your training, competency and professional scope.
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, follow-up records, patient communications and routine front-desk needs.
• Keep examination rooms, supplies, inventory and equipment ready, including monitoring expirations, restocking and coordinating orders, vendors or service needs.
• Support team meetings, action tracking, established workflows, operational records and patient-engagement activities.
• Communicate safety, staffing, workflow or compliance concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical or operational leader.

What You Need

You must qualify through one of the following routes:

• Medical Assistant: Completion of education or training that meets applicable California requirements, with demonstrated competency for assigned duties; or
• Licensed Vocational Nurse: An active, unrestricted California LVN license.

• Strong, current venipuncture and specimen-handling skills, including the ability to perform blood draws confidently.
• Recent vaccine- or injection-administration experience.
• Current BLS or CPR certification.
• Experience with patient intake, vital signs, specimen handling, EKGs, point-of-care testing and routine outpatient clinical support.
• Strong organization, reliability and the ability to coordinate multiple workflows while working independently onsite.
• Accurate documentation and a professional, patient-centered communication style.
• Comfort using an electronic health record and standard office technology.
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco for the full stated schedule.

Strongly Preferred

• At least three years of recent outpatient, primary care, occupational health, employee health or comparable ambulatory experience.
• Previous lead, coordinator, training, site-operations or workflow-improvement experience. A formal lead title is not required.
• Experience coordinating referrals, scheduling, patient follow-up, supplies or clinic workflows.

Scope note: Medical Assistants perform assigned clinical services within their documented training, written authorization and required supervision. LVNs work within their California license and applicable clinical direction. The Operations Lead coordinates clinic workflow but does not independently make medical decisions or direct the clinical judgment of licensed providers.
