Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS ):
Medical Lab Technician (MLT):
UPMC Passavant's Microbiology lab is looking to add a Full-Time Medical Lab Technician or Scientist to our team! Candidates will be placed into the correct level and status based on education and background; Lab Support Technician (min= $18.99) Medical Laboratory Technician (min= $22.12) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (min= $27.78) and so on!
Hours: Primarily 7AM - 3:30PM and 9:30AM - 6PM with rotating weekends and holidays; other shifts may vary.

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT):
Associate degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as either a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA), OR
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science, OR
Equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA '88 for individuals performing high complexity testing.
Experience: Minimum 1 years' experience in a hospital laboratory preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred.
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS or MT):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of a CAHEA accredited Medical Technology program, OR
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP categorical certification, OR
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory, OR
Equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA '88 and PA Bureau of Laboratories for technologist performing high complexity testing.
Prefer 1 year experience in a hospital laboratory. Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory information systems.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred. New York License required for NY locations.
