Initially, the nanny will focus primarily on caring for the toddler, who turns 2 in August. Once the mom returns to work in the fall, the nanny will also be responsible for the newborn. The toddler will begin going to school Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in September. The family is looking for a proactive caregiver who is experienced with newborns and toddlers and passionate about supporting early childhood development in a loving and structured environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, loving care for a toddler and newborn
  • Support developmental milestones through age-appropriate activities including tummy time, movement, music, reading, sensory play, and talking
  • Incorporate classical music and reading into the children’s daily routines
  • Plan and attend playdates, classes, and neighborhood activities
  • Take daily outings to nearby parks, including Riverside Park and Central Park, or libraries/bookstores
  • Prepare bottles and assist with the transition from breastfeeding to formula feeding as needed
  • Maintain organization of the children’s belongings, including light laundry and tidying play spaces
  • Create a calm, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports emotional and developmental growth

Requirements

  • Prior professional experience caring for newborns and toddlers
  • Strong professional references required (3–5 references)
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing personality
  • Energetic and physically active with a hands-on caregiving style
  • Organized, proactive, and dependable
  • Comfortable working in a kosher household (guidelines will be provided)

The ideal candidate is warm, developmentally minded, and genuinely enjoys becoming an important part of a family’s daily life.
