Job Title: Paraprofessional II / 504 Support

Reports to: Building Principal

Location: William Henry Harrison High School

Pay Rate: $16.10/hour (via stretch pay)

Hours: 37.5 hours/week

We are seeking a Paraprofessional II / 504 Support team member at William Henry Harrison High School.

Job Summary: The Paraprofessional II / 504 Support is responsible for providing support to students with 504 Plans to ensure equitable access to the educational environment. Working under the direction of teachers, counselors, and administrators, this position assists with the implementation of 504 accommodations, promotes student independence, and supports student success in the general education setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and/or small group support to students as directed by teachers, counselors, and administrators.
  • Assist in implementing accommodations and supports outlined in students'' Section 504 Plans.
  • Support students with organization, time management, study skills, and assignment completion.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and other school staff to support student success.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate observations to appropriate staff.
  • Assist students in utilizing instructional technology and other educational resources.
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute instructional materials as directed.
  • Perform recordkeeping and basic clerical duties related to student support and documentation.
  • Supervise students as assigned and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Respond appropriately to student needs and emergency situations.
  • Attend meetings, professional development, and required training sessions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by teacher and/or administrator.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Valid certificate/ license as issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
  • One or more of the following required to meet ODE HQT: passage of the Praxis ParaPro Exam, 60 credit hours of higher education or associates degree or higher.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student, staff, or sensitive information is non-negotiable.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and the community.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written and oral communications.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and BOE policies.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. verbal (including listening) and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to provide demonstrated leadership in the execution of communication strategies.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Pushing the agenda and goals of the school district is imperative.
  • Political acumen and organizational support is strong focus as well.
