Join Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Full-Time Peer Support Specialist and earn $17.50-$23.31/hour while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young women ages 12-18. In our Aspire Program, you'll work directly with youth at our Orem facility, using your lived experience and recovery journey to provide encouragement, connection, and hope. You'll help teens develop coping skills, navigate challenges, and build confidence as they work toward healing and personal growth. We value collaboration, innovation, empathy, and creating a workplace where both clients and employees can thrive.What You'll Do as a Peer Support SpecialistBuild supportive, trusting relationships with young women receiving services in the Aspire Program.Share personal recovery experiences in a thoughtful and professional way to inspire hope and resilience.Encourage and coach youth as they develop healthy coping skills and work toward personal goals.Provide one-on-one peer support during challenging moments, helping clients navigate setbacks and celebrate successes.Facilitate conversations and activities that promote emotional wellness, self-esteem, and personal growth.Collaborate with clinicians and other team members to support each client's treatment and recovery journey.Model positive communication, problem-solving, and recovery-focused behaviors.Document services and interactions according to agency standards.Create a welcoming, supportive environment where every young person feels seen, heard, and valued.Help youth recognize their strengths and build confidence in their ability to succeed both during and after treatment.QualificationsApplicants must meet ONE of the following options:Option 1:One year of post–high school education in social work, psychology, or a related fieldOne year of general work experience OR an equivalent mix of related education and experienceOption 2:Self-identified lived experience in one of the following areas:An individual in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use disorderA parent of a child with a behavioral health disorderAn adult with an ongoing supportive relationship with someone experiencing a behavioral health disorderAdditional Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDCompletion of Peer Support Training through Utah DSAMH (preferred, not required)Ability to problem-solve and maintain a client-centered approachSpanish speakers may qualify for increased wages after testingApply TodayReady to make a real impact? After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing.
