We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying medication orders, supporting residential program staff with clinical guidance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing pharmacy workflow in a fast-paced long-term care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications for residents in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and group homes
  • Ensure medication packaging and labeling accuracy in accordance with prescription orders, facility protocols, and state/federal regulations
  • Process prescription refills, prior authorizations, and medication changes using pharmacy management software
  • Provide clinical consultation and medication-related support to nurses, residential staff, and caregivers
  • Monitor for drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, allergies, and other medication safety concerns
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow efficiency and accuracy
  • Communicate with prescribers regarding clarifications, refill requests, and therapy recommendations
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and Board of Pharmacy standards
  • Assist with inventory management, controlled substance procedures, and quality assurance initiatives
  • Support on-call or after-hours pharmacy needs as required

Qualifications

  • Active Pharmacist license in Massachusetts (required)
  • Previous experience in long-term care, institutional, or high-volume retail pharmacy preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working with pharmacy software systems and electronic prescribing platforms
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and residential care staff

Preferred Experience
