Licensure/Certification/Registration
Certified pharmacy technician through either Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)
Registration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a "Certified Pharmacy Technician
High School Degree, College Preferred
Knowledge/Skills
Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills
Able to read and write printed material in English
Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Essential Duties & Functions:
Prepare and pack medication doses prior to a pharmacist's review and dispensing
Monitor drug inventory levels to ensure a continuous supply of medications without stockpiling supplies
Enter information into and retrieve information from a database or patient profile
Troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers, and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy
