Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Quality Inspectors for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. Quality Inspectors will be inspecting, testing and measuring materials and/or products and accurately recording inspection and test data. The Quality Inspector will verify that products are manufactured using defect-free materials and meet all customer specifications. This Quality Inspector position offers an AM day shift and is based out of Livonia, MI. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Quality Inspector position below are strongly encouraged to apply.
 
Shift:
  • AM day shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Monday - Friday + Saturday as needed)
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections and measurements on materials or products using various precision tools (e.g., rulers, calipers, gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), thread gauges, gauge pins, optical comparator, surface testers, height gauges or micrometers) to ensure compliance with quality standards and accurately record results
  • Accept or reject finished products including tagging or identifying all products and material that fail to meet specifications
  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings and other written instruction. This includes understanding and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD & T) symbology
  • Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process to improve quality
  • Calibrate or verify test instruments
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and promote continuous improvement
 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid U.S driver's license
  • 1 year of inspection experience with common hand gages or equivalent
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to calibrate or verify test instruments and keep detailed records
  • Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills as a Quality Control Inspector
 
Preferred Skills:
  • 1 year of experience programing and operating a Direct Computer Controlled (DCC) CMM.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) certified
  • Some technical training or related coursework
  • Prototype shop experience
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
