Our organization is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher for an Illinois elementary resource room serving students in grades 3–5. This opportunity is ideal for an educator who enjoys tailoring instruction, strengthening academic skills, and helping students progress toward individualized learning goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning.
- Adapt lessons and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers.
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher and a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate special education endorsement, including LBS1 credentials applicable to the position. Strong instructional, organizational, classroom-management, and communication skills are expected. School-based special education experience is preferred. Candidates with out-of-state credentials may be considered if they meet Illinois licensure requirements.
