Job Status/Type: Full-time, year-round

 

 

Shift/Schedule Requirements: Ability to work various shifts and days including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

 

 

Responsible for all carpentry services for Rides Maintenance, ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times according to Six Flags Darien Lake standards.

Responsibilities:

• Constructs, installs (placement, position, measure, cut, construct, inspect), replaces, repairs and maintains wooden ride components for proper operation according to Six Flags Darien Lake standards.
• Perform skilled work in the maintenance of park rides, ensuring efficient and safe operations at all times.
• Inspect and evaluates rides for proper function, maintain daily lubrication schedules, detects and investigates any malfunctions or irregularities and notifies supervisor of any safety concerns.
• Assists emergency personnel in emergency evacuation procedures, providing training to the staff, ride operators and technicians.
• Assists with various other maintenance work as required.
• Adheres to all park policies and procedures, including attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
• Keeps all work areas clean, safe and professional.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years related experience as a carpenter in construction or technical school equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Driver’s license required.
• Ability to work with tools, machinery, and heavy equipment, which may include forklift, genie lift, boom truck, lathe, milling machine, etc.
• Ability to climb and work at heights up to 208 feet.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes, fall protection equipment.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime.
