The School Nurse at Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart supports student health and wellness to enhance learning and school participation. Responsibilities include emergency care, chronic condition management, health education, illness prevention, immunization compliance, student health assessments, and coordination of individualized health plans. The nurse collaborates with students, families, staff, healthcare providers, and community resources to promote a safe and healthy school environment.
Additional duties include:
- Providing emergency response training and coordinating the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT)
- Monitoring school safety and communicable disease control
- Maintaining health records and required reporting
- Supporting employee wellness initiatives
- Assisting with school health policies and staff training
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with BSN required
- Current Wisconsin RN license
- Eligible for Wisconsin school nurse endorsement
- CPR certification
- Strong communication, assessment, leadership, and collaboration
