Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Senior Automotive Mechanics for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. Senior Automotive Mechanics will be modifying cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Senior Automotive Mechanic will mentor and oversee team members’ technical deliverables to ensure customer standards are met. This Full-time Senior Automotive Mechanics position is based out of Allen Park, MI. Responsibilities:
  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Lead daily shop organization and clean-up
 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic in a professional setting (Engine R&R, electrical diagnostics & repair, blueprint/schematic reading, transmission rebuilds, powertrain diagnostics and repairs, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to mentor and train others
  • Must have own tools with rolling toolbox
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
 
Preferred Skills:
  • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
  • State Mechanic Certification(s)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
