Job Summary:

DVU Dairy is looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to work at Delaware Valley University's Dairy Facility during the summer months. This employee will work an average of 40 hours per week Monday through Friday and every other weekend.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Milking cows and care of young stock
  • Assist with the herd health care tasks, including diagnosis, treatment, of general dairy health conditions
  • Skid loader operation to scrape lot, feed hay, and other tasks
  • Mix and distribute feed to the different animal groups housed at the facility
  • Maintain a clean, healthy, and attractive facility
  • Assist with general maintenance of the facility
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of milking system, and experience at milking animals
  • Skid loader operating skills
  • Basic farm knowledge and animal handling skills

Education and Experience:

N/A, Must be above the age of 18, have reliable transportation and live within a reasonable distance from the university in Doylestown, PA

Pay: $20/hour

Hours: 40 hours/week - We have 3 scheduled shifts per day as follows: from 3:45 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., a 2-3 hour mid-day shift (mid-shift times may vary but are planned close to the end of the AM shift or before the PM shift), and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be some days that require extra time as the need arises (examples: facility improvement projects, sick animals, upkeep and maintenance, etc.)

Required Clearance: Selected applicant will be responsible for providing the university with a Pennsylvania State Criminal Record Check clearance.
