Fullstack Software Engineer (React/Python)

STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India.

The team is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer (React/Python/MySQL) to support a high-visibility initiative. In this role, you will help evolve and enhance a business-critical platform that supports complex media workflows across the enterprise.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a system at the center of content operations, building new functionality, improving performance, and enabling large-scale integrations used by teams across the organization. You will join a collaborative engineering environment focused on delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions with a modern React frontend, Python backend services, and MySQL data environments. We will be looking to implement Elasticsearch into this application and migrate it into an AWS hosted environment, so similar experience is highly preferred. Also having strong experience with REST API development and integrations will be important for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full stack applications using modern web technologies and cloud-native patterns.
• Develop responsive, high-performing frontend solutions using React, TypeScript experience will also be considered.
• Build backend services, business logic, and application integrations using Python and Flask
• Create, enhance, and support RESTful APIs used across connected enterprise platforms.
• Work with the MySQL database (e.g. MariaDB, etc.) and have experience with complex query development and data modeling support.
• Improve database efficiency, reliability, and overall data quality across the application environment.
• Implement Elasticsearch into the application architecture and migrate the on-premise application into an AWS hosted environment.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across product, architecture, and engineering to deliver scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, release activities, and ongoing platform improvements.
• Contribute to engineering best practices that support maintainability, performance, and long-term scalability.

Qualifications
Required:

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack developer or full-stack software engineer.
• Strong frontend development experience with React preferred, or comparable experience with TypeScript.
• Solid backend engineering experience using Python and Python frameworks (e.g. Flask)
• Experience implementing Elasticsearch and migrating applications into AWS hosted platforms.
• Hands-on experience working with relational databases, especially MySQL & MariaDB.
• Advanced experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs in distributed application environments.
• Strong experience working in AWS environments and respective services (e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, API Gateway, etc.)
• Understanding of cloud-based architecture and distributed systems design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Preferred (Optional):

• Experience working in large-scale media and entertainment environments.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and broader DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of performance optimization, scalability, and application reliability best practices.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $65-$75 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
