Functional Tester

We are seeking a skilled Functional Tester with strong experience in end-to-end software testing, particularly within Health and Human Services systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining test scenarios while ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned with system requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review system documentation and identify test objectives
• Develop and update test scenarios and test cases
• Execute functional and regression testing for web-based applications
• Identify, analyze, and document software defects clearly
• Validate database results using SQL queries
• Test batches, interfaces (flat files and SOAP UI), reports, and security roles
• Perform testing for data conversion and legacy system replacements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
• Provide test case peer review feedback
• Deliver test artifacts including test cases, defect reports, and regression results

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years of end-to-end software testing experience
• Strong experience in HHS systems with Integrated Eligibility rules testing
• Programs include TANF, Medicaid, SNAP, and Child Care

• Proficiency in testing methodologies such as white-box, black-box, coverage, and regression
• Experience testing interfaces, batches, reports, and security roles
• Strong SQL skills for data validation
• Experience with web-based application testing and legacy system replacement
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Willingness to work in central Pennsylvania

• Preferred Skills

  • Experience in test automation
  • Familiarity with Agile, RUP, Lean, or Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for test case management
  • Bachelors degree or higher in a relevant field
