Overview

We are seeking a Fund Accountant to support daily accounting activities for commingled investment portfolios within a fast-paced financial services environment. This role is responsible for executing key components of the net asset value (NAV) process, including transaction processing, fund accounting support, break resolution, reporting, and operational controls.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and client service.

Responsibilities

Fund Accounting Operations

• Perform daily fund accounting activities supporting NAV production
• Process and review transactions, capital stock activity, expenses, corporate actions, cash activity, and special handling items
• Serve as a primary contact for derivative valuation inquiries
• Verify accounting information and ensure data accuracy
• Monitor daily volume and ensure deliverables meet established quality and timeliness standards
• Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting breaks and exceptions

Issue Resolution & Risk Management

• Escalate complex issues and potential risks to management
• Resolve transaction-related issues using established procedures, documentation, and systems
• Follow up on open inquiries and outstanding items
• Communicate professionally with internal teams to minimize operational risk and exposure

Reporting & Analysis

• Support daily production reporting and management reporting activities
• Contribute to reporting related to accounting breaks, reconciliations, variance analysis, and operational metrics
• Monitor trends and support process improvement initiatives
• Assist with departmental analysis and operational efficiency efforts

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with internal departments to resolve accounting and operational issues
• Support team objectives and ensure deadlines are met
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, productivity, and efficiency
• Develop an understanding of how fund accounting activities impact broader business operations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to identify, escalate, and resolve issues effectively
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
• Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment and work under pressure
• Willingness to work U.S. holidays and overtime as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications

• Fund accounting, investment operations, custody, or financial services experience
• Experience supporting NAV calculations and fund accounting processes
• Knowledge of derivatives, securities, cash reconciliations, or investment products
• Experience with break resolution, reconciliation processes, and operational controls
• Exposure to process improvement initiatives within a financial operations environment
