Overview

We are seeking a Fund Accountant to support the accounting and operational activities of commingled investment portfolios within a leading financial services organization. This role is responsible for executing key components of the Net Asset Value (NAV) process, resolving accounting exceptions, supporting reporting initiatives, and ensuring daily. accounting deliverables are accurate, timely, and compliant with operational standards.

Responsibilities

Fund Accounting Operations

• Support daily Net Asset Value (NAV) production activities for investment portfolios
• Process and review:
  • Transactions
  • Capital stock activity
  • Expenses
  • Corporate actions
  • Cash activity
  • Special handling transactions
• Serve as a primary contact for derivative valuation inquiries
• Verify accounting information and ensure transaction accuracy
• Monitor daily production volumes and ensure deliverables meet established quality and timeliness standards
• Assist with accounting break identification, investigation, and resolution

Reporting & Analysis

• Support daily production reporting and operational metrics
• Contribute to management reporting, including reconciliations, break analysis, cash reporting, and operational performance metrics
• Monitor trends and identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and data analysis as needed

Issue Resolution & Risk Management

• Escalate accounting and operational issues appropriately
• Follow up on open inquiries and unresolved exceptions
• Communicate professionally with internal teams to resolve issues and minimize operational risk
• Support departmental control processes and quality standards

Process Improvement & Team Support

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and productivity
• Develop an understanding of how fund accounting activities impact broader business operations
• Assist the team in meeting deadlines and operational objectives
• Manage multiple responsibilities and projects effectively despite competing priorities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to identify, escalate, and resolve issues effectively
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work U.S. holidays and overtime when required

Preferred Qualifications

• Fund accounting, investment operations, custody operations, or financial services experience
• Experience supporting NAV calculations and portfolio accounting activities
• Knowledge of derivatives, securities accounting, corporate actions, or cash management processes
• Experience with reconciliations, break resolution, and accounting controls
• Exposure to management reporting and process improvement initiatives
