Private equity firms within the Career Launch AI network—particularly lower middle-market and growth-oriented managers—may seek a detail-oriented Fund Accounting Analyst to support fund-level accounting, financial reporting, and operational processes.
Individuals in roles like this work closely with fund controllers, operations teams, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate books and records, timely reporting, and compliance with private equity accounting standards. Support monthly and quarterly fund closes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Maintain accurate general ledger records for private equity funds and related entities
Assist with NAV calculations and supporting schedules
Track capital calls, distributions, management fees, and fund expenses
Reconcile investor capital accounts and cash movements
Support waterfall calculations and allocation schedules
Prepare fund-level financial statements in accordance with GAAP and private equity standards
Assist with audit and tax processes, including coordination with external auditors and advisors
Support preparation of financial data for investor reports and regulatory filings
Assist with quarterly valuation processes and documentation
Maintain cost, fair value, and investment-level accounting records
Support reconciliation between investment data, valuation models, and accounting systems
Maintain accounting data across internal systems and third-party platforms
Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls, and documentation
Support implementation of process enhancements and system upgrades
Exposure to private equity fund structures and lifecycle events
Hands-on involvement in NAV, capital activity, and audit processes
Close collaboration with investment, operations, and external service providers
Strong foundation for careers in fund accounting, fund finance, or private capital operations

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with reconciliations and financial schedules
Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
Familiarity with private equity fund structures, capital accounts, and valuations is a plus
Prior internships or experience in fund accounting, audit, transaction services, or asset management is beneficial
Exposure to private equity, hedge funds, or alternative investments is a plus
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage recurring close cycles and deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Reliable, process-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally
