The Opportunity

The firm is a global, long-term investment manager with a concentrated, fundamental value-oriented strategy and a sophisticated institutional investor base. With a highly collaborative team and a lean organizational structure, this individual will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and gain visibility across the firm's broader fund operations.

The Fund Controller will report directly to senior finance and operations leadership and will play a hands-on role across the firm's accounting and fund-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute a broad range of fund accounting and financial reporting responsibilities
• \n
• Participate in the preparation and review of financial statements, NAVs, and related reporting
• \n
• Support technical accounting matters and complex fund-related transactions
• \n
• Partner closely with senior leadership on accounting, finance, and operational initiatives
• \n
• Help identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and overall efficiency
• \n
• Work cross-functionally across the organization and gain exposure to a wide range of fund operations
• \n
• Serve as a hands-on resource who is comfortable getting into the details rather than simply managing from a distance

Ideal Background

\n

• \n
• Approximately 4–8 years of relevant experience
• \n
• Hedge fund experience is required
• \n
• Experience in public accounting, private accounting, or a combination of both
• \n
• CPA strongly preferred
• \n
• Strong technical accounting foundation and excellent attention to detail
• \n
• Exposure to multiple investment products/strategies is highly desirable
• \n
• Candidates with some private equity experience will also be considered
• \n
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
• \n
• Genuine "team over me" mentality
• \n
• Highly motivated to learn, take on responsibility, and grow with the organization
• \n
• Comfortable being hands-on and taking a true roll-up-your-sleeves approach
