Job Title: Funeral Director / Embalmer

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 base salary (commensurate with experience) + $5,000 Sign-On Bonus!

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled dual-licensed Funeral Director / Embalmer to join our team in St. Joseph, MO. This role is ideal for a professional who is dedicated to providing exceptional care to families while maintaining the highest standards of funeral service and preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate funeral, memorial, and graveside services with professionalism and empathy
• Meet with families to arrange services, explain options, and ensure their wishes are honored
• Perform embalming, restorative art, and preparation of the deceased in accordance with state regulations and industry standards
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, including licensing and documentation requirements
• Coordinate with cemeteries, clergy, and third-party vendors
• Maintain preparation room standards, equipment, and inventory
• Participate in on-call rotation as required

Required Qualifications

• Dual licensure as a Funeral Director and Embalmer (Missouri or ability to obtain Missouri licensure)
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a funeral home or mortuary setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple arrangements while providing compassionate care
• Valid driver’s license
