Funeral Director

Come join a great team in the Erie area, at a highly reputable Funeral Home as a compassionate, service-oriented professional & Funeral Director. This position is responsible for guiding families through funeral arrangements with sensitivity, dignity, and professionalism, while ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with organizational standards, cultural traditions, and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Family Service & Counseling

• Meet with families to arrange funerals, burials, and memorial services at the time of need.
• Provide compassionate guidance and emotional support during times of loss.
• Explain service options, merchandise, pricing, and financing clearly and ethically.
• Ensure all arrangements respect religious, cultural, and personal preferences (including Jewish traditions).

· Prepare and assist in filing all required legal documents (death certificates, permits, authorizations).

Funeral Direction & Operations

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral and memorial services.
• Work closely with clergy, cemetery staff, and vendors to ensure seamless execution.
• Supervise visitations, services, and graveside ceremonies.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of services, contracts, and client interactions.
• Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations.
• Meet or exceed individual and team performance goals.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with empathy and professionalism in emotionally sensitive situations.
• Ability to work 5 days a week.
