FWS - Museum Support Staff - The FLIP Childrens Museum (CSWS)

Location: Off Campus at The FLIP Children's Museum (136 SE 3rd Ave, Hillsboro 97123)

Wage: $16.80/hr

Length of employment: 2026-27 academic year

Purpose of Position:

We are an emerging, multicultural children's museum, providing hands-on and play-based learning and community-building exhibits and programs, while prioritizing access for low-income families and marginalized communities. Interns would be an integral part of the small team, based out of downtown Hillsboro.

There are opportunities to support all aspects of the business, including customer service and play with the kids, marketing and community outreach, collaborative programming development, and daily museum maintenance. Each internship can be tailored to the student's interests and goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interns would primarily work out of our downtown Hillsboro location; however, there are opportunities to support our mobile museum as well when it visits libraries, family shelters, and community events.
• Daily setup and cleaning that happens throughout the shift
• Checking in and welcoming customers
• Answers families questions about the museum and assisting with crafts
• Various projects such as building a fort with a child or fixing a tech issue in our cartoon-making room
• Additional projects depending on student interest, such as planning cultural events
