Location: Off Campus at Forest Grove City Library (2114 Pacific Ave, Forest Grove 97116)

Wage: $16.80/hr

Length of employment: 2026-27 academic year

Purpose of Position:

hands-on experience working with children and families, develop skills in program planning, literacy support, and communication.

love of reading and creating. Great for following interests: child development, libraries, teaching, early literacy, community engagement, creativity, art studies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist children's librarian in preparing and presenting 1-2 weekly programs:

  • Preschool Storytime (including a craft) and After-School Artists for elementary schoolers.

  • Assist in creating displays and preparing materials for other youth programs.

  • Brainstorm and/or research possible weekly process-based art activities for preschoolers and elementary schoolers.

  • Prepare materials for youth programming and displays.

  • Assist in setting up the room before programs, moving tables, chairs, and supplies.

  • Greet program attendees.

  • Assist and encourage children during programs.

  • Help to clean up materials after programs

Shifts available:

  • Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Desired:

  • Bilingual English / Spanish

  • Ability to work specifically Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. for Preschool Storytime support and/or Fridays 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. for Afterschool Artists elementary-age art program support
