Position Information

Job Title GA for the APEX Accelerator - NBDC - Graduate Assistant Department NBDC Essential Functions

The Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) is seeking a graduate student worker to join the APEX Accelator team.

Candidates must either be a current Masters student at UNO, or be enrolled in a Master's program at UNO for the Fall of 2026.

The position will be based out of NBDC located at Mammel Hall on the University of Nebraska-Omaha campus.

>The APEX Graduate Assistant provides assistance to the APEX Program Manager and APEX Counselors statewide

Work Schedule 20 hrs per week Additional Duties

>A Graduate Assistant in this program is expected to assist the APEX Program Manager and APEX counselors in performing an analysis of the area they intend to service.

>Graduate Assistant will assist the APEX Program Manager and APEX Counselors in providing procurement technical assistance. Assistance of a specialized and professional nature provided to a business firm/client to enable it to identify potential contractual opportunities with DOD, other federal agencies, state and/or local governments, and government prime contractors.

>Graduate Assistant will assist the APEX Program Manager and APEX Counselors in providing clients with counseling and information regarding marketing their products and services to DOD, other federal agencies, and state and local governments.

Required Qualifications

Must be a graduate-level student enrolled in a graduate program at UNO.

Must have Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

  • Must have good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a business-related field of expertise preferred (Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, etc.)
