Description and Functions
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking multiple entry-level Game Wardens to join our team and help conserve Wyomings wildlife resources while serving the public across the state. This position performs and assists with a variety of essential duties, including law enforcement with an emphasis on watercraft safety and compliance, wildlife management data collection to support management decisions, and wildlife conflict and damage response involving injured or nuisance wildlife.
Game Wardens work closely with a wide range of external constituents and internal Department staff, building strong relationships through public outreach, education, and daily field interactions. This position also participates in ongoing training and completes other duties as assigned in support of the Departments mission to protect and manage Wyomings wildlife and natural resources.

euthanization of wildlife. Use chemical and mechanical immobilization equipment and techniques when necessary and appropriate. Use firearms to euthanize wildlife
enforcement agencies, conduct investigations, and collect intelligence. Conduct courtesy watercraft safety and registration inspections, along with HIN, VIN, and AIS inspections. Carry and maintain law enforcement weapons and gear.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Agency requires that candidates have a Bachelors degree in wildlife management, range management, biology, zoology, ichthyology, or other closely related fields. Other bachelors degrees may be considered with at least 20 hours of wildlife-related coursework as evidenced on required transcripts.
Agency requires that candidates possess a valid drivers license.
Willing and able to undergo a background check, which will include fingerprinting.
Wyoming State Law requires competitive testing for wildlife law enforcement positions. See website information at https://wgfd.wyo.gov/careers

You will be required to pass a written exam.
