Job Summary:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Gaming Commission Clerk provides administrative, and clerical support to the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission. This position assists with maintaining regulatory records, and supporting compliance, licensing, and audit activities. Serves as a point of contact for the public, ensuring accurate documentation, confidentiality, and adherence to Cherokee Nation gaming regulations.

Job Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Writes, types or enters information into computer to prepare correspondences, bills, statements, receipts, checks, and/or other documents.
• Performs routine clerical and typing tasks involved in processing varied office materials such as form letters, requisitions, and envelopes.
• Verifies information for accuracy and completeness against existing records, posts information to records or ledgers, and issues equipment.
• Orders and issues supplies as appropriate.
• Opens, sorts and routes incoming mail; prepares outgoing mail.
• Greets callers and assists them with general problems or complaints, answers telephones, refers calls or takes accurate and complete messages.
• Operates copiers, fax machines or other office equipment.
• Provides clerical and administrative support to the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission (CNGC) staff.
• Prepares and maintains accurate files, correspondence, reports, and regulatory documents.
• Greets visitors, answers phone calls, and responds to routine inquiries regarding CNGC processes and requirements.
• Schedules appointments, hearings, interviews, and meetings for staff.
• Receives, logs, and maintains regulatory reports submitted by gaming operations.
• Assists compliance officers by preparing documents needed for audits, inspections, and investigations.
• Assists in preparing financial and activity reports for supervisory review.
• Maintains secure storage, retrieval, and archiving of regulated documents.
• Maintains office supplies and equipment for the CNGC administrative office.
• Assists with special projects, policy updates and procedural improvements.
• Performs other duties, tasks, and services consistent with this position as assigned.


LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
• This position does not directly supervise any individuals.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One (1) year in a related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move
up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


CERTIFICATES, LICENES, REGISTRATIONS
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Driver's license is required to be able to perform weekly visits at casinos.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a Cherokee Nation Gaming License through employment.

• The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
