Job Summary:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Gaming Commission Compliance Manger directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of the Gaming Commission in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by the Executive Director, Director and the Commission by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

Job Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Abides by Gaming Commission confidentiality and ethics policies.
• Coordinates the compliance functions.
• Assists in issuing and administering regulations to implement the provisions of the Cherokee Nation Gaming Ordinance and the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
• Assists the Director in the development and implementation of Commission policies and procedures.
• Implements and administers a system for investigation and monitoring of employees and others connected with gaming activities.
• Assists in reviewing proposed changes to internal controls.
• Monitors compliance with approved system of internal controls through use of surveillance and other available means.
• Provides the Commission with reports on compliance levels, the results of compliance testing, and adjusts compliance activity to improve departmental efficiency.
• Determines compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws, and regulations and prepares appropriate reports.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining records of compliance related items.
• Formulates and implements IT strategies aligned with the Commission goals.
• Ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Identifies opportunities for technological innovation and process improvements for the Commission.
• Performs other duties, tasks, and services consistent with this position as assigned.


LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
• This position directly supervises gaming commission compliance officers, gaming commission monitor, senior gaming agent, and gaming system analysts.
• Sets work procedures, priorities, levels of responsibility, and objectives.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, management, public administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in government accounting, enterprise operations, or Indian Tribal governmental operations highly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
• Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a Cherokee Nation Gaming License throughout employment.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
