Graduate Assistants are valuable members of the Office of New Student and Family Programs (NSFP). The Graduate Assistant (GA) for New Student and Family Programs is responsible for helping plan, market, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives that support new students and their families throughout their transition to East Texas A&M University. This position will require some evening and weekend hours.
The GA will assist in developing and enhancing programs designed to foster student success, engagement, and belonging. This position provides opportunities to serve on university committees, attend personal and professional development activities as budget allows, and assist with additional departmental assignments as requested. The Graduate Assistant will support the mission of New Student and Family Programs, the Division of Student Affairs, and East Texas A&M University.

The Graduate Assistant for New Student and Family Programs is a 9-month, 20-hour-per-week position that will involve some evening and weekend hours, particularly during Orientation programs, Family Weekend, and other major university events.
Compensation includes a biweekly stipend and tuition/fees assistance for up to 18 credit hours each year.
GA pay $13.33 per hour at 20 hours per week.
Only full-time graduate students at East Texas A&M University are eligible for this position. If you plan to enroll in a graduate program at East Texas A&M University by Fall 2025, you may be considered for this position.
