Job Title: Gardener

Department: Cultivation

Job Summary: The role of the Gardener is to facilitate daily functions of the cultivation department. This role ensures cultivation goals laid out by Cultivation management are being met. Gardeners are delegated tasks from management.

Pay Range: $20.00 per hour - $22.00 per hour commensurate with experience

Location: Bellingham Cultivation facility

Full time/Part time: Full Time

Shift: First/Second

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all plant related tasks from propagation to harvest
  • Understand parameters for climate in cultivation areas
  • Mixing nutrients
  • Cleaning equipment and rooms
  • Maintains quality standards
  • Understanding rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum one year experience in the cannabis industry

Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position that requires but is not limited to, 40 hours per week. This position can be required to work on weekends and holidays. Candidates must be flexible with their work schedule. This position requires excellent attendance and reliable transportation. Must be able to work at all cultivation facilities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Must qualify for the use of a full-face respirator
  • Must be able to complete repetitive fine motor movements
  • Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn, open, close, lift, or otherwise work with your hand(s) to manipulate packaging, products, and pruning equipment repetitively throughout a 8hr shift.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with high noise and high light intensity
  • Must be comfortable using provided PPE such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to handle plant matter daily, and be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE") as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection)
  • Ability to visually identify product health issues, safety hazards, and signage
  • Ability to use a ladder up to 12 feet high

Physical Requirements: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds (100 pounds with mechanical assistance). Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Workplace Environment: Allergen Warnings - The employee may be exposed to dust, pollen and plant pathogens. All jobs require daily use of provided PPE such as masks, hair nets, bear covers, respirators, boot covers, hearing protection, aprons, gloves, Tyvek suits, and goggles/eye protection, as necessary. The employee must be able to work in spaces with exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to, air compressors, packaging equipment, alarms, and other machinery. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an environment suited for the plants' optimal performance and not necessarily the employee's comfort.
