Gas Burner (W-3) 2nd Shift

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:       

• Receives Instruction from Supervisor as to work to be performed.
• Hooks up to position and removes plates/pipes on plasma/flame cutting beds, shear table, and/or press.
• Aligns plates and operates shear in shearing plate to size. Adjust shear blade to thickness to shear.
• Lights torch, operates control and flame cuts to specified dimensions
• Manually stamps/marks plates and pipe for identification
• Manually or machine cuts scrap and cuts identifies tests.
• Keeps immediate work area in clean and orderly condition
• Lubricates and cleans equipment daily
• Observes all safety and shop rules
• Assist and/or trains new employees in job classification
• Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
• Pay rate $22.36 plus shift differential (increase to $29.81 at 1 year anniversary)

Education:

• High  School diploma or equivalency

Experience:

• 1 to 2 years’ experience in plasma and manual cutting

• Competent in reading, interpreting drawings and capable of performing simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication).

Physical Demands:

• Lifting (30-35 lbs.), manufacturing floor environment
• Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility
• Regularly required to listen, talk to, and see employees on a daily basis.
