Job Description
The Natural Gas Pipeline Integrity and Compliance team is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Gas Compliance Engineer to support Avista's mission of pipeline safety through strong data integrity, transparent documentation, and effective program oversight. This role will be responsible for the Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP), lead all efforts around Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) records review and validation, serve as a subject matter expert for pressure test and related compliance records, and provide oversight of Gas Operations records retention. The position will also assist with audit preparation and support, patrolling data review and reporting, and participation in Gas Reportable on-call rotation responsibilities. In addition, this role will collaborate across Gas Operations and represent compliance perspectives on committees such as tools and materials, Gas Standards, the Gas Emergency Services Handbook (GESH), and industry groups including the American Gas Association (AGA) TIMP Committee, while also supporting others with gas valve location reviews, transmission project design, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) audit reviews as needed.

Hiring Range: $77,595 to $100,486, ML 8 Associate Engineer:
Hiring Range: $88,336 to $114,838, ML 9
Engineer:
Hiring Range: $100,378 to $131,496, ML 10
Senior Engineer:
Hiring Range: $114,207 to $150,183, ML 11
Principal Engineer:
Minimum of ten years engineering work experience required OR a Masters degree in Engineering (or related science/technical program) plus nine (9) years engineering work experience.
Demonstrated mastery in skills illustrating their use of productivity, presentation, and analytical tools specific to his/her area of expertise
Demonstrated significant and sustained history of technical leadership within engineering as evidenced by a combination of:
technical leadership on projects, programs, or initiatives
conducting technical training activities internally or externally
engagement with junior level engineers
presentations, technical paper reviews, or panel participation at technical conferences
membership and active participation in regional or national technical working groups or standards committees (e.g. NESC, IEEE, WEI, AGA, WECC, CEATI, NATF)
regulatory or expert witness testimony regarding a technical subject
continued demonstration of emotional intelligence, keeping the customer at the center, and being a life-long learner
Demonstrated positive and effective working relationships with internal and external parties
Hiring Range: $130,190 to $171,852, ML 12
Other combinations of experience, training, and education may be considered.
This position is temporary status. Throughout the duration of the role, an employees employment and benefit status will be that of a temporary employee. This role may be filled on a regular basis without further competition at the conclusion of the assignment by the employee selected for the temporary status role.
