Gas Turbine Mechanic

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Gas Turbine Mechanic to disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, test, and reassemble heavy rotating equipment in Houston, TX. In this role, you will perform technical inspections and overhauls with minimal instruction while ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.

Schedule: Currently working 10hr days. 1st Shift: 6am-2:30pm on 8hr days and 6am-4:30pm on 10hr days M-F. 2nd shift hours: 2pm-10:30pm (8hr) / 2pm-12:30pm (10hr).

What You'll Do:

• Assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, and perform visual inspections on rotating equipment and industrial gas turbines.
• Utilize hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools alongside precision measuring equipment (ID/OD/depth micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Read and independently interpret complex machining and engineering assembly drawings.
• Follow detailed work routers for the inspection, repair, and modification of units under production constraints.
• Provide on-site technical support across the service facility as needed.

Important Employment Note: This is a temporary/contract position with no benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, or paid time off during the contract period.

What We Need:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5 to 8+ years of heavy mechanical overhaul and repair experience focusing on rotating equipment.
• Direct, hands-on experience with at least one of the following turbine frames: GE10, PGT 10/PGT 25, Frame 3, or Frame 5.
• Mechanical background with understanding of industrial coating operations, equipment, fixtures, and process parameters.
• Solid understanding of HSE requirements with a proven track record of adhering to safety protocols.
