Position Overview

A large multispecialty group in New York City is actively seeking a Gastroenterologist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting in the Bronx. This opportunity offers flexibility for part-time or full-time schedules and is ideal for physicians interested in managing a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions while working within a collaborative, well-supported environment.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Evaluation

• Diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and colorectal disorders
• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, imaging, and lab studies

Procedures & Clinical Management

• Perform endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic GI conditions
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed

Care Coordination & Collaboration

• Collaborate with primary care providers, surgeons, and specialists for comprehensive care
• Coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and advanced GI care when necessary

Patient Education

• Educate patients on digestive health, preventive screenings (including colorectal cancer screening), and lifestyle modifications
• Counsel patients on diet, nutrition, and disease management strategies

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR/EHR systems
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Active or eligible for New York State medical license
• Experience in outpatient GI and endoscopic procedures preferred (new graduates may be considered)
• Strong procedural and clinical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
