About the Clinician's WorkdayThe gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive outpatient gastroenterology coverage including 24-hour hospital call responsibilities, scheduled endoscopic procedures, and clinic consultations. The clinician will manage weekly assignments covering hospital call, performing scheduled procedures in the endoscopy laboratory, answering consultations, and providing 2-3 half-day clinic sessions. Clinic operations include seeing 3 patients per hour from 8:00 AM to 11:20 AM with support from nursing staff and advanced practice providers. The position requires managing 8 scheduled procedures per half-day endoscopy block including EGD, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy with comprehensive documentation in EPIC EMR system.
