We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Office Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with patients, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients warmly and create a welcoming first impression.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally.
  • Schedule office visits, endoscopic procedures, and follow-up appointments.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Obtain prior authorizations as needed.
  • Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding patient balances.
  • Accurately enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate with physicians, physician assistants, medical assistants, and billing staff to ensure smooth patient care.
  • Process referrals, medical records requests, and patient forms.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • Assist with other front office and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Gastroenterology experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations preferred.
  • Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
